“Buzzard Days” Celebration, Makoshika State Park

This is the annual celebration of Makoshika State Park. A day and half of activities includes 2 recreation tournaments – cornhole and disc golf – music, Bluebird hike, 5K & 10K Fun Run, Cross Country Brewing, Food Vendors, Max’s Archeology Exhibit, Makoshika Promotions Mini-Train Rides, and more.

Paleo Experience at Makoshika State Park

State Park staff take you on a paleontology experience including an in-depth visitor center tour, paleo lab visit, and a hike on the Diane Gabriel Trail to the Hadrosaur fossil exhibit. 20 person limit, reservations recommended, $10/person.

National Fossil Day at Makoshika State Park

Join Makoshika State Park, Baisch’s Dinosaur Digs and the Frontier Gateway Museum at the Makoshika State Park visitor center in celebration of National Fossil Day. This will be the second annual National Fossil Day Event held by Makoshika State Park and our paleo partners. Visitors may view real fossils, win prizes, make fossil casts, and more. The Glendive Dinosaur & Fossil Museum will also offer discounted entry fee of $5/ person on the day. This event is great for all ages and family friendly.
